Istria is famous for tennis. There are some 430 clay courts for playing tennis throughout the year. The Istrian town of Umag hosts the famous ATP Tour Croatia Open and the list of well-known tennis stars that have already participated at the ATP Tour includes Goran Ivanišević, Thomas Muster, Andrej Medvedev, Magnus Gustafsson, Carlos Moya, Sergi Bruguera, Felix Mantilla, Emilio and Javier Sanchez and many more.
